BIO

Since beginning DJing in St Louis in 1999, Trackstar the DJ has worked diligently to build a career as a respected performer and mixtape producer. Over the past decade plus, in between radio and club gigs, he has mixed and released over 100 mixes, including collaborations with Royce da 5’9″, Lupe Fiasco, Phonte, Camp Lo and others. Through his prolific mixtape work, as well as his roles as the tour DJ for Killer Mike and a key contributor for the elite online tastemaking team The Smoking Section, Trackstar’s passion, professionalism, and focus are evident as well as a deep respect and love for hip hop culture.

Trackstar has held down college (KWUR 90.3FM) and satellite radio shows (RMF Radio on Afromentals Mixshow/Hip Hop Nation) as well as rocked clubs, MC & B-Boy battles, house parties, colleges, and many other events. He has backed established and lesser known MCs onstage across the nation, performing dozens of times at festivals like A3C and SXSW (appearing with Hot97′s Peter Rosenberg and Nas in 2012), and through his non-profit organization The Center for Recording Arts he has given lectures on hip hop history and DJ lessons to hundreds of adults and children, as well as leading hip hop workshops for youth of all ages in classrooms and detention centers throughout St Louis.
